Callawassie Island Residents Live In Harmony With Nature
Callawassie Island is a private golf club community. But there’s much more than playing the links to the Callawassie Island lifestyle. Residents take pride in the wide variety of animal and plant life to be found in the woods, marshes, lakes and rivers on the island. Callawassie Island, led by the Ecology Committee, has just been awarded the National Wildlife Federation's Community Wildlife Habitat Certification, the first community in South Carolina to receive this honor.
Golf is a passion among Callawassie Islanders, fueled by the 27-hole Tom Fazio designed course that offers challenges for golfers of every ability. A traditionally styled club house looks out over the Colleton River estuary and features men’s and women’s lockers as well as a fully stocked pro shop. Three dining rooms and a grill offer the best in both casual and fine dining.
